Reason 24: His friendship with Stephen Fry

Aside from their working partnership, Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie have remained the best of friends for decades. Fry was Laurie’s best man at his wedding and has become godfather to all three of Hugh’s children. 

“‘Hugh is my best friend,’ says Stephen. ‘That is what is so pleasing about working with each other. We do it because we enjoy it. We make each other laugh. We couldn’t do it as a job if we didn’t like each other. We see each other a lot in our spare time. Part of the way you write comes from humorous things that happen when you do things together.’”
